The Solution

Design-Centric Solution

Utilizing academic research the researcher developed an awareness and advocacy kit for dyslexia targeting African American communities. Dyslexia That Looks Like Me created a visually engaging resource guide and a culturally relevant campaign that promotes education, support, and advocacy African American students with dyslexia.

Awareness &

advocacy kit

The kit is housed in a 9x7 mailer box, providing a compact and convenient packaging solution. The packaging design of the kit reinforces the message of representation, diversity, and cultural identity.

Resource guide

The guide incorporates research-based typography, font sizes, and colors aimed to increase readability for individuals with dyslexia.

Conclusions

An awareness campaign another key aspect of this design-centric solution would be to incorporate interactive elements into the campaign. This could include digital platforms such as social media and interactive websites, as well as in-person events such as workshops and presentations. These interactive elements would allow for direct engagement with the target audience, providing opportunities for education, support, and advocacy.
